Project overview
On D Way, a platform that quickly increases a restaurant's revenues. It helps brands increase exposure, increase sales, and increase competitive advantage through an easy dashboard, a partner application, and convenient API integrations.
The Challenge
Curating an application that faces intense market rivalry was always going to be challenging. On D Way, a platform divided into three sections that focus on administration, restaurants, and customers, was created with the goal of assisting users in improving their relationship with ordering food so they could make informed decisions while travelling.
Our Solution
We began user research for the administration platform while building the visual representation of the application. A solid user experience was organised while sparingly creating interactions to aid in the user's exploration. In the end, restaurant platforms was created to provide a streamlined and user-friendly service to restaurant owners.
Structuring the information
We began developing the fundamental information architecture for the application using the data we had collected from the competitors and from analysing the heuristics.
Color Pallete
The colours chosen ranged from Blueberry to Snow Persian. Multiple shades were employed to group colours into categories ranging from Primary to Accent.
Typography
Lato is a free google font, which is optimized for web and mobile interfaces with excellent legibility characteristics in its letterforms which gives a neutral yet friendly appearances.
Components
We opted for a minimalist design approach and created a components library that served as the foundation for the app’s visual simplicity and clean design.
Turning wireframes into design
Having finalized the IA after a few iterations, we drafted wireframes while considering all pain points for users. We also ensured a very smooth and simple onboarding process, followed with a highly intuitive and visually rich User Interfaces.
Smooth, Rich Screens
All the primary and the secondary screens are consistent with the defined structure and graphical elements, creating a seamless navigation experience in a minimal and highly accessible way to restaurant platform users
Marketing Website
We also designed the marketing website for the whole product. Responsive versions were also designed for the platform. 8 point grid system was followed in the UI. while maintaining the grid system we were able to achieve a pixel-perfect responsive user interface across the website.
Restaurant Dashboard
Dashboard that graphically displays for users the restaurant's data, revenue, and order breakdown. Furthermore, a view for user complaints has been introduced. Order list and recent activity have both been added.
Responsive UI
For the platform, responsive versions were designed. The UI used an 8 point grid system. We were able to create pixel-perfect responsive user interfaces for everything from dashboards to patron tracking.
