Project overview
Ondway is a platform that enables travellers to plan their meals according to their schedules and preferences. It bridges the gap between highway restaurants and travellers by increasing the visibility of these eateries and helping travelers make informed dining decisions.
The Challenge
It was always going to be difficult to create an application with the same mission as its rivals but a different method of food delivery i.e Catering to the travellers with a goal of assisting users in improving their relationship with ordering food so they could make informed decisions.
Our Solution
We began user research for the customer platform while building the visual representation of the application. A solid user experience was organised while sparingly creating interactions to aid in the user's exploration. In the end, customer application was designed to provide a streamlined and user-friendly service.
Information Architecture
We began creating the core information architecture for the application to optimize how users find information and complete tasks efficiently. Additionally, we also integrated data from our competitor analysis to ensure external consistency and adhere to industry conventions.
Color Pallete
The colours chosen ranged from Persian Green to Seljuk Blue. Multiple shades were employed to group colours into categories ranging from Primary to Accent.
Typography
Lato is a free google font, which is optimized for web and mobile interfaces with excellent legibility characteristics in its letterforms which gives a neutral yet friendly appearances.
Components
We opted for a minimalist design approach and created a components library that served as the foundation for the app’s visual simplicity and clean design.
Initial Wireframes
Having finalized the IA after a few iterations, we drafted wireframes while considering all pain points for users. We also ensured a very smooth and simple onboarding process, followed with a highly intuitive and visually rich User Interfaces.
Marketing Website
We also designed the marketing website for the whole product. Responsive versions were also designed for the platform. 8 point grid system was followed in the UI. while maintaining the grid system we were able to achieve a pixel-perfect responsive user interface across the website.
Order & Serving
This was the distinctive tagline for On D Way: catering to travellers. Takeaway, dine-in, and drive-in orders all fall under one of three main order types. Additionally, serving styles for fast and relaxed meals were constructed.
